Salary Range: $27.65/hr. - $48.80/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a 12-month temporary position, with no benefits.
  • This position will work in collaboration with the Directors office on the job functions listed below.
  • This position will support and assist in creating Health Department policies and procedures.
  • Create standard operating procedures, manuals, and other correspondence relative to internal operations.
  • This position will work alongside the director’s office to create a Health Department workforce development plan and framework for sustaining the plan.
  • Establish a departmental orientation training and supplemental documents to ensure acknowledgement of policies reviewed and timely completion of trainings annually. Provides technical support on drafting of division/program-level standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Client's Human Resources department to ensure Health Department job descriptions are up to date and ensure standardized language reflects the values of public health and job specific requirements.
  • This position will participate in continuous improvement efforts as necessary.

Qualifications:  

  • Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the field of expertise; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Experience as a Policy Analyst, Technical Auditor, Technical Writer, Grant Writer, Policy Writer, Administrator, or other related position that required extensive writing ability and assignments is preferred.
  • Experience developing business reports, risk management, high-level correspondence, auditing, standard operating procedures, and procedure manuals is preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Planning, Human Resources, Workforce Development, Adult Training and Learning or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred in Public Administration or a related field.

Travel Requirements:  

This position will involve no travel.
