Salary Range: $24.96/hr. - $33.38/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning & Operations Division leadership
  • Provide subject-matter-expertise to the Director’s Office regarding strategic planning, change management, communications, quality improvement, PHAB accreditation, and performance management.
  • Provide support to the UGPHD in achieving a culture of quality through staff training and/or the management of heath equity quality improvement projects.
  • Provide support and consultation to division supervisors, managers and leadership in health equity efforts.
  • Participate in the UGPHD's performance management system, including setting appropriate goals, metrics and benchmarks.
  • Ensure the UGPHD is actively analyzing relevant public health and DEI data available and identify opportunities for application.
  • Advocate for the use of the Health in All Policies approach to decision-making by elected officials, Unified Government administration, and community leaders.
  • Demonstrate visibility and support as a sounding board and resource to Division staff.
  • Work collaboratively with business and fiscal staff to ensure all reporting and performance requirements are met.
  • Participate in the public health orientation training.

Qualifications:  

  • Two years of related program experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Foundational knowledge of public health, health equity, and proven methods to reducing inequities is expected. Must be comfortable speaking to a variety of audiences on behalf of the department.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with people of various ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, and life experiences. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, manage multiple priorities, and have exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid KS driver’s license. 
  • A background check and drug screen will be conducted on potential selected candidates.
  • Must reside in Wyandotte County or relocate to the county within 12 months of hire.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Master’s degree in public health with an emphasis in health equity is preferred.
