Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for the full range of activities associated with maintaining a large centralized storeroom related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of material.

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required.

  • Examine incoming stock; verify quantity and compliance with order specifications. Sign receivers and process timely so vendors receive payment. Count, sort and check in incoming articles; verify against requisitions, shipping notices or invoices; place articles in warehouse. Route, count, and inspect items while loading and unloading trucks; deliver and return items.
  • Unload deliveries. Count, sort and check in incoming articles; verify against requisitions, shipping notices or invoices. Place incoming stock in bins, on floors, or on shelves according to identifying information.
  • Enter, edit and verify all stock issues and transfers from the warehouse onto the computer system. Record part number, quantity, work order number, etc. Close out all stock issues at the end of the month, and reconcile discrepancies as directed.
  • Review parts quantity list on a weekly basis. Prepare requisitions as needed to reorder standard stock items in defined quantities.
  • Respond to a variety of inquires from maintenance and management staff regarding parts on hand, status of supply orders, etc.
  • May work directly with vendors to set up delivery schedules to the warehouse. Contact vendors to obtain information regarding shipping status or orders or special orders placed by department. Pick up special-order material directly from vendors.
  • Assist the front service desk. Fill the stock requests, pull parts and verify orders. Issue supplies, tools, equipment and material from stock. This includes scanning the bar code on the CCS system and entering the amount issued;
  • Operate company vehicle to pick up and deliver merchandise. This consists of transporting old office furniture, equipment, etc to sites and taking small appliances to be repaired.
  • Maintain storeroom areas in orderly, safe and clean manner.
  • Regularly develop, review, and update all relevant SOPs and forms;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Type at least 45 wpm after errors are deleted.
  • Demonstrated skill in reading and writing, with strong business math skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of parts used for residential maintenance, and their common uses.
  • Demonstrated ability to lift and carry weights up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • At least two (2) years experience in a storeroom or warehouse.
  • Other equivalent combinations of degrees and/or experience will be considered.
Equipment Used:
  • Typical equipment includes, but is not limited to, the following: forklift, hand truck, and computer terminal.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function: Extensive exposure to all kinds of weather. Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Extensive standing, bending, walking, climbing, crawling and lifting required.
Other:
  • The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in state of residence and an insurable driving record under the terms and conditions of the client's auto liability policy.

Travel Requirements:  

This position will involve no travel.
