Responsibilities:

  • Supervises assigned employees, including hiring, evaluating, training, performance management, compensating, motivating, coaching, and developing goals and procedures to ensure the achievement of goals.
  • Manages all aspects of the construction process to meet or exceed Company growth goals while ensuring the safe and reliable expansion and replacement of the distribution and transmission system by employing the sound implementation of construction policies and procedures, existing and future governmental codes and regulations as well as jurisdictional requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a program to accomplish in scope work, including quantifying work set, sizing implementation resources, defining scheduling/optimizing requirements, and developing performance measures, and uses the company’s work management system.
  • Ensures appropriate levels of oversight of contractors working on construction projects.
  • Ensures contractor compliance with contractual requirements and monitors performance to meet all replacement program requirements.
  • Manages construction activities with customers (builders and developers), contractors and other support groups within to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while documenting and justifying any cost variances.
  • Interacts with external audiences to interpret guidelines and procedures and/or to resolve problems associated with the Company’s programs, systems and services enhancing the customer experience.
  • Meets with state and local officials and customers to coordinate projects, resolve issues and maintain good working relationships.
  • Collaborates with external audiences to review and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs, guidelines, systems and services within the assigned unit.
  • Manages, develops, and implements safety initiatives and goals.

Required Qualifications:  

  • The client is in the Energy and Gas industry.
  • The successful candidate must undergo a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screen.
  • 7+ years of experience in construction management or construction project management or related experience is required.
  • 2 years supervisory/team leadership experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and dependable transportation is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of contract administration, federal, state and local underground construction regulations, piping systems design, and installation of gas distribution systems preferred.
  • Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, to share, retrieve, research and present business information.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, and to identify relevant issues in solving business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to logically analyze and solve broadly-defined business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors, subordinates and peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple parties (through direct authority and indirect authority/influence) to the successful completion of projects and to meet expected goals.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to coordinate diverse activities, set timelines, budgets and specifications.
