Salary Range: $31.00/hr. - $48.42/hr.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions Community Health Division leadership

  • Provide consultation and expertise to the Director’s Office regarding community health programming and strategy.
  • Lead the evaluation of division programs, goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Work with CHD staff and the Client’s Development Officer to identify, write, and obtain grant funding for programs and projects.
  • Ensure all work plans, budgets, and reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner to funders.
  • Participate in policy making efforts at the local and state levels, including working with and presenting to elected officials.
  • Provide 1:1 support and guidance to community health division staff, including hiring, onboarding, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Mentor, coach, and or guide staff toward the success of their performance expectations.
  • Demonstrate visibility and support as a sounding board and resource to Division staff.
  • Assist in the development of division level and/or organization-wide policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with business and fiscal staff to ensure all reporting and performance requirements are met.
  • Maintain an understanding of the various processes and procedures of the department.
  • Utilizes strong communication skills and professionalism.
  • Maintain professional and cordial interactions with community partners, staff and others at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
UGPHD departmental operations
  • Exercise leadership in a manner consistent with the department’s values and embody servant leadership.
  • Participate in the Client's Executive Leadership Team, including setting strategic priorities for staff development, community partnerships, programming, and more.
  • Ensure the Client is an open and safe space for employees and fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion in both internal and external work.
  • Actively participate in the department’s core operational work, including but not limited to strategic planning, performance management, quality improvement, building a culture of equity, emergency preparedness, and communications.
Partnership management
  • Coordinate and collaborate with local and state partners, including community-based organizations, other Client departments, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, healthcare organizations, and others.
  • Work with CHD staff to ensure necessary partners are engaged and participating in coalition-based work.
  • Identify new potential partnerships and support CHD staff in conducting direct community engagement on health-related issues.

Qualifications:  

  • Five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public agency; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Preferred Requirements: 
    • At least three years of experience in public health or a related field and at least one year of experience supervising employees.
    • Must be comfortable speaking to a variety of audiences on behalf of the department.
    • Have a basic understanding or knowledge of strategic planning.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with people of various ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, and life experiences. 
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, manage multiple priorities, and have exceptional time management and organizational skills. 
    • Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid KS driver’s license. 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
