Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of special maintenance, service, and repair tasks on water plants that may involve buildings, facilities, mechanical equipment or electrical systems, or a combination of, utilized in the operations of the water facilities.
  • Checks and maintains assigned facility, equipment or system for preventive maintenance and critical operation factors.
  • Using a variety of tools, test and calibration equipment applies accepted maintenance, service, and repair procedures to maintain or return item to proper operation conditions.
  • Consults with supervisor on special maintenance and repair problems.
  • Performs service and minor repairs on a wide variety of equipment.
  • Work is performed under the general supervision of a designated supervisor.
  • Work is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
  • Work is physically demanding in hazardous conditions requiring close contact with different chemicals while wearing the appropriate safety equipment.
  • Depending on area of assignment, shall be able to comply with the requirements of the Utilities' Health and Safety Manual.

Qualifications:

  • One year related work experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.  

Travel Requirements:  

This position will involve no travel.
